TORONTO —Taste Canada has announced the full list of cookbooks, in both official languages, competing for the coveted 2021 Taste Canada Awards. In total, there are 73 cookbooks — 47 in English-language categories and 26 in French-language categories, by authors from eight provinces — competing for the culinary-writing award.

On June 16, Taste Canada will release the 2021 shortlist of culinary titles, narrowing the competition to a maximum of five entries per category. The categories include culinary narratives, general cookbooks, regional/cultural cookbooks, single-subject cookbooks and health and special-diet cookbooks.

For the second time, Taste Canada will present the 2021 awards gala virtually and ensures the online celebration will be as memorable as the in-person celebrations have been in the past.

In addition, Taste Canada and the Culinary Historians of Canada announced that nominations for the 2021 Taste Canada Hall of Fame Awards are open. Two inductees, one to recognize a current living author and the other for a deceased author who deserves appreciation, will be announced at the virtual ceremony in the fall.

Soon, Taste Canada will be releasing details about the 2021 Shortlist Giveaway in collaboration with Home Hardware and F.Dick Canada.
