TORONTO — Torontonians with exquisite taste will be joining Second Harvest — a charitable organization that delivers perishable food to more than 200 social service agencies in Toronto — at the Royal Ontario Museum June 12 at Toronto Taste.

Billed as a gastronomic adventure, the 21st anniversary event will feature 60 top chefs — including Roger Mooking, Michael Smith, Mark McEwan, Scott Conant, Donna Dooher, Chris McDonald and David Lee —  and be hosted by Bob Blumer of Food Network Canada’s Glutton for Punishment and author of Glutton for Pleasure.

Attendees will be able to peruse a collection of items and experience packages available for purchase in the silent auction, fine wine auction and live auction. One item already catching attention, is the first barrel of wine auctioned in Toronto — a barrel of David’s Block Chardonnay 2010, donated by Tawse Winery. This unique prize will yield approximately 300 bottles of custom-labelled wine.

During the past 20 years, Toronto Taste has raised more than $4-million for Torontonians in need.
