Taverne Gaspar Opens in Montreal

MONTREAL — The Taverne Gaspar, a 120-seat restaurant, has opened on rue de la Commune in old Montreal.

“Following the success of Méchant Boeuf Bar-Brasserie in the neighbourhood, we are very proud to create a new local destination on rue de la Commune,” said Dimitri Antonopoulos, vice-president of Marketing and Development for the restaurant’s parent company, the Montreal-based Pinnacle Award– winning Antonopoulos Group.

Zach Suhl and chef Mario Guerrera will run the restaurant, which will offer British-inspired comfort cuisine with French and Quebec influences, including a selection of local beers. Restaurant specialties include a trio of savoury tarts, scallops with pork belly and spatchcock Cornish hen.
