TORONTO — Just as The Cookbook Store celebrated its 30th birthday this year, its owner has announced the iconic location is set to close after the space was sold to condo developers.
The Cookbook Store, located at 850 Yonge St. in Toronto, has been home to countless book signings, famous chefs and, more recently, cooking classes. Long-time manager Alison Fryer told Quill and Quire the condo development won’t mean the store is shuttering permanently.
“As a leader in the world of cookbooks and culinary events for over 30 years, we will be building on our past successes as well as creating new initiatives in an exciting and vibrant new environment. We look forward to updating you all on these developments as we are able to release the information.”
Owner Josh Josephson and Fryer are considering a number of options for relocation.
