NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ont. — The Exchange Brewery was named Canadian Brewery of The Year at the 2017 New York International Beer Competition (NYIBC). The young brewery also received four additional awards at the annual competition, including:
• Golden Ale — Gold Medal, Ale Beer Styles – Belgian And French Origin
• Peppercorn Rye Saison — Gold Medal, Ale Beer Styles – Belgian And French Origin
• Foreign Exchange Stout — Gold Medal, Ale Beer Styles – North American Origin
• Amber Ale — Bronze Medal, Ale Beer Styles – North American Origin
“We wanted to submit a diverse selection of beers to our first international beer competition and were thrilled by the great response from the judging panel,” says Sam Maxbauer, head brewer at The Exchange. “We are especially proud of the growth of our barrel program and honoured to be named Canadian Brewery of the Year.”
