TORONTO — J.K. Rowling fans are flocking to The Lockhart, a new neighbourhood bar that pays homage to the popular Harry Potter series through craft cocktails and design.
“Without knowing any of the Harry Potter stuff, you already will think of this as a cool bar. You’d come here and see the stag’s head on the wall and go ‘Wow, I love that,’ but a Harry Potter fan might say ‘That’s a Patronus,’” Paris Xerx, co-owner told Now Toronto.
Signature drinks include The Lockhart Caesar, made with vodka, “death potion,” angostura, Worcestershire sauce, Frank’s Hot, clamato, horseradish, lime and spice ($10). The bar also offers shared cocktails such as the Befuddlement draft, with gin, vodka, peach schnapps, blue Curaçao, cherry brandy, triple sec and ginger ale ($28).
But other parts of the menu lay off the references to the popular series. A limited menu of shareable snacks are on offer including salad rolls, baked brie and deep fried jalapeño mac and cheese sliders.
