Tim Hortons and Burger King Merger Creates Restaurant Brands International

OAKVILLE, Ont. — Restaurant Brands International Inc. has announced the completion of the Tim Hortons and Burger King merger transaction. The transaction creates Restaurant Brands International, a new global leader in the QSR industry, operating more than 18,000 restaurants worldwide.

Daniel Schwartz, former CEO, Burger King has been appointed to the role of CEO, Restaurant Brands International. Marc Caira, formerly CEO, Tim Hortons will serve as vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of Restaurant Brands International.

As of Dec. 12, Tim Hortons and Burger King shares will cease trading on the stock exchange, with Restaurant Brands International common shares to begin trading today. Restaurant Brands International plans to announce the remaining leadership structure for the company today as well.
