Tim Hortons Introduces Kids Menu

OAKVILLE, Ont. — Tim Hortons launched its new Timmies Minis kids menu, which offers meal options with no artificial colours or flavours, a full serving of fruit and no added sugar. Many of the items are also an excellent source of calcium and vitamin C.

The Timmies Minis menu ($4.99) lets parents and kids build their own meals as they select one of three entrées, one of four sides and one of five drinks.

“We asked parents and kids what was most important to them when selecting a kid’s meal and the number-1 answer for both groups was taste,” says Alex Macedo, president of Tim Hortons. “We conducted extensive research on the best taste for any kids meal in Canada and we are very proud that we are launching products that moms, dads and kids alike will get excited about.”

Kids and parents can select one of three entrées to build their Timmies Minis meal:

  • Mini Melt — a grilled-cheese sandwich made with cheddar cheese, white bread and topped with a blend of melted mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheeses
  • Mini Wrap — seasoned grilled chicken in a soft tortilla with lettuce and cream cheese and grilled fresh to order
  • Chicken Strips — two pieces of seasoned, breaded chicken breast served with sweet-and-sour sauce

Sides include apple slices, SunRype FunBites, Black Diamond Cheestrings or snack-sized potato wedges. Drink choices include white milk, chocolate milk, orange juice, apple juice or a bottle of water. In 2019, additional items will be added to the menu.

Tim Hortons has partnered with Team Canada hockey player Meaghan Mikkelson to launch its new kids menu — with Meaghan being a proud hockey mom and ambassador for the Timmies Minis program.

“Tim Hortons played a big role in my life growing up. From visits after hockey practice, to meeting up with friends after school, Tims was always there. Now, as a busy mom to an active toddler — and soon to be mother of two — the Timmies Minis meals fit very well into our very busy life,” says Mikkelson

Every Timmies Minis Pack comes in a fun box that celebrates Canada and will change seasonally. Instead of a toy, the box will come with a fun activity book that will also change monthly. With winter just around the corner, the first box and activity book will have a winter-sports theme with Canadian animals playing some of our favourite winter activities.

In addition, 10 cents from every Timmies Minis Pack goes to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation to help build brighter futures for youth in communities across Canada.

Starting November 18, Tim Hortons will be launching a nation-wide campaign to promote the new kids meals, including new TV, radio, out-of-home and social-media spots.
