Tim Hortons Ranks High On Global List Of Sustainable Corporations

TORONTO — Tim Hortons has earned the eleventh spot on The 2015 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World (Global 100) Index released by Corporate Knights, a Toronto-based media and investment advisory company.

The quick-service chain has committed to being a leader in sustainability in the restaurant sector, having been named to the Carbon Disclosure Project Leadership Index, reduced water consumption at corporate offices, improved distribution fleet fuel efficiency and more. “We’re honoured to be recognized as one of the world’s most sustainable companies, particularly as the top Canadian brand on the ranking,” said Alexandra Cygal, VP of Corporate Communications, Restaurant Brands International, parent company to Tim Hortons in Oakville, Ont.. “Our commitment to sustainability is one of the keystones of our business and our investment in this area has contributed to our continued success in making a true difference for the individuals and communities we serve every day.”

Companies named in the Global 100 index are the top overall sustainability performers in their respective industries. The index was compiled based on the revenue companies generate per unit of energy consumed, the ratio of CEO to average worker pay, and company dedication to product and system innovation.
