TORONTO — Timothy’s World Coffee, operating  in Canada since 1975, is opening its first café in Boston, Massachusetts this weekend, as parent company Bruegger’s Enterprises Inc. continues expanding the Timothy’s brand into the U.S. market.

According to Jim Greco, CEO of Vermont-based Bruegger’s Enterprises, “Timothy’s has proven to be a Canadian favourite and with the expansion into the U.S market, we hope it’ll soon be an American favourite as well.

” Greco said the company’s retail location in the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport proved American customers welcomed Timothy’s. “The success of the Timothy’s café opening at the airport showed us that U.S. customers are passionate about their coffee and the Timothy’s brand.”

Customers at the new Boston café, opening Dec. 17, 2011, can sample from more than 30 premium coffee blends, flavoured and ethical coffees, as well as specialty coffees made exclusively from 100 per cent Rainforest Alliance Certified Espresso.

“Timothy’s is a strong brand in Canada and has carved out a distinctive position as global coffee experts.  We want the Timothy’s community in the U.S. to grow and we are confident it will resonate with an American consumer base,” said Greco.

Timothy’s World Coffee is part of Threecaf Brands, Inc. a subsidiary of Bruegger’s Enterprises Inc., which operates 300 bakeries in North America. Threecaf Brands manages nearly 140 restaurants across Canada including Timothy’s World Coffee, mmmuffins and Michel’s Bakery Café.
