Tinhorn Restaurant to Open in April

OLIVER, B.C. — After several years of planning, some delays, and a year of construction, Tinhorn Creek owners have announced that the winery’s restaurant will open to the public April 1.

The restaurant, named Miradoro, roughly translates to “Golden View” in Portuguese and pays homage to partner Manuel Ferreira’s background. Miradoro will serve market cuisine in a relaxed fine-dining atmosphere. It seats 65 people inside and 65 outside on the patio, which boasts a panoramic view of the scenic South Okanagan Valley.

Executive Chef, Jeff Van Geest — who’s worked at Vancouver’s Bishop’s and Diva at the Met — will create a menu that complements Tinhorn’s focus on sustainability. He will be joined by Justin McAuliffe, Miradoro’s general manager and sommelier, who has worked in the wine industry for 15 years at some of the top restaurants in Toronto (Centro, Canoe) and Vancouver (C Restaurant).

Tinhorn Creek Vineyards is located just south of Oliver B.C., in the Golden Mile wine-growing district. The winery offers 100 per cent estate grown vino, growing grapes on both the Black Sage and Golden Mile benches.
