TORONTO — As of February 22, 2022, Todd Barclay will be officially stepping down from his role as president and CEO of Restaurants Canada (RC).

“On behalf of Restaurants Canada, we would like to thank Todd for his contributions to the organization and the critical role he played throughout the pandemic,” said RC Chair Cindy Simpson in a release. “During his tenure, Todd has worked alongside all our members to spark change, innovate and support the industry’s needs, helping to position Restaurants Canada as a leader through challenging times. It’s clear, especially after the past few years, that we are a strong and resilient industry and will only grow stronger together. We wish Todd well as he explores another opportunity within the foodservice and hospitality sector.”

While the association begins its search for a new president, Restaurants Canada’s vice-president, Finance, Roy Little, will be stepping into the role of interim president and CEO, effective immediately, through to June 30.

“To ensure a seamless transition and that our message and our achievements to date remain resolute, your regional vice-presidents will continue to be your main point of contact. We will continue to fight on behalf of the industry, demanding a seat at the government table to discuss all matters concerning our industry, including more accessible and immediate government support, solutions to help address the ongoing labour shortages, and more,” said Simpson.
