ST. JOHN’S — Todd Perrin, chef-owner of Mallard Cottage in St. John’s, plans to open WaterWest Kitchen and Meats in the city’s Water Street West neighbourhood, according to CBC News.
Perrin plans for the restaurant to become a neighbourhood hub, but the new space will also act as additional prep space for Mallard Cottage. The building’s top floor will serve as a prep kitchen and bakery, while the ground floor will feature a butcher shop and cutting room, which will supply both restaurants. The middle floor of the building will feature a small restaurant, coffee bar and takeaway deli.
The business is expected to open by early summer and will offer items such as salads, sandwiches, soups, pasta and pasta sauces.
