Top Chefs to Showcase Crustaceans at B.C. Spot Prawn Festival

KELOWNA, B.C. — Top B.C. restaurants will showcase their crustacean dishes at the second annual Wild B.C. Spot Prawns festival in Kelowna on June 2.

“Wild B.C. Spot Prawns are a delicacy known around the world for their sweet, delicate flavour and firm texture. They are most recognizable for their reddish brown colour, which turns bright pink when cooked, defining white spots on their tail and white horizontal bars on the carapace. Spot prawns are the largest of the seven commercial species of shrimp found on the west coast of Canada.”

Participating restaurants include Bonfire at the Cove, C Restaurant with Chef Robert Clark, Ricardo’s Mediterranean Grill, Hillside Estate Winery and Bistro, Joy Road Catering, Nineteen Grill and Lounge, Poppadoms and The Terrace at Mission Hill Family Estate

This year’s festival will be hosted by Bonfire at the Cove Resort located in West Kelowna.
