TORONTO — One Toronto restaurant has pivoted from its normal role to begin life as a corner store amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Local Public Eatery has locations throughout Toronto and has expanded its offering from its normal takeout and delivery menu of pub food, to offering products it would normally use for its restaurant, such as toilet paper and paper towels.

The new venture, named Local Corner Store, is also selling basic fruits and veggies such as limes, lemons, grapefruits and avocados.

Customers can also buy baguettes, gluten-free buns, flour tortillas and an array of cheeses. The Local Corner Store delivers all its products via Doordash and is open from noon to 10 p.m.
