TORONTO — Oro — a long-standing Italian restaurant in downtown Toronto — held its last service in late December.

Owner Connie Ciccocioppo chose to close the restaurant and sell the space in order to retire.

Ciccocioppo and her husband Domenico, who passed in 2016, purchased the restaurant — then Old Angelo’s — in 1983 before renovating and rebranding to Oro in 1997 to mark the restaurant’s diamond anniversary.
