TORONTO — The city’s restaurant community was saddened to learn of the recent passing of Kevin Gallagher, co-owner and partner of Mildred’s Temple Kitchen.

A 40-year veteran of the hospitality world, Gallagher ran the popular Toronto eatery, located in Liberty Village, along with his wife and chef, Donna Dooher. He was a consummate host to the thousands of people who passed through his restaurant doors and he mentored countless individuals who worked alongside him with patience, kindness and a quick wit. He was an active member of the community. His obituary, published in the Ottawa Citizen, described him as “the embodiment of a Renaissance man — a poet, a philomath, a collector of books, a crossword-puzzle whip, a lover of opera, bowties and Irish whiskey.”

Gallagher leaves his wife Donna Dooher, and their children Maeve and Rory, as well as countless other family members.
