Toronto’s Reyna to Open its First U.S. Location in New York

TORONTO — Reyna will be opening its first U.S. location in New York this spring, with Nicki Laborie at the helm.

Laborie has re-connected with longtime business partner Etienne DeYans, who she met while living in New York more than 20 years ago, to open the restaurant’s third location. Reyna will be replacing Le Midi Bar and Restaurant.

“I went down to New York and I got re-inspired,” Laborie told Daily Hive. “I missed New York. It feels like home and I just started looking at opportunities. Unfortunately, [restaurants] didn’t get that many subsidies and a lot of [them] closed, so there was a lot of opportunities to find great spaces at affordable pricing. I looked all summer, and in September, we found a space that was ideal.”

The new location will look similar to its Toronto counterpart, but it will feature a new speakeasy on the lower level called Le Louis XIV.
