GUELPH, Ont. — University of Guelph’s School of Hospitality & Tourism Management is offering two courses designed to teach students and the public about wine.

One thing that impresses me about the WSET courses is the quality of their textbooks and other course materials. It’s cutting-edge, world-class information,” said Bruce McAdams, a professor in the school, who has taken both courses.

The first-level course runs Sept. 29 and Sept. 30 and is meant to serve as an introduction to wine styles, grape varieties and matching wine with food. The second-level course is 10 weeks; it begins Sept. 24 and runs for one evening a week. The course will offer more in-depth lessons on wine and teach students about the production of spirits.

The courses are offered under the Wine and Spirits Education Trust certification, a widely recognized accreditation. For more information or to register, visit uoguelph.ca.
