VANCOUVER — Vancouver restaurateur Umberto Menghi opened his newest restaurant, Giardino, this past week. It’s located steps away from the original Il Giardino restaurant, which closed down in spring 2013 in Vancouver.
The new 5,000-sq. ft. eatery seats 160 people with an 80-seat garden patio and features an open kitchen, vaulted ceilings, wooden beams, and Tuscan tiles. Menghi estimated that renovations cost more than $1 million.
Giardino Restaurant is open from Monday to Saturday for dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. Lunch service will follow in a few weeks.
