VANCOUVER — After reviewing 59 applications, a panel has approved 12 new Vancouver food carts.
“It’s attracted a lot of international attention, which is fantastic,” Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson told CBC news. “We are a city of note in terms of food culture around the world right now.”
Top-ranking carts include Soho Road Kebab, a British-Indian food cart; Ze Bite, a Mediterranean-themed cart; and Pig on the Street, a pork-loving cart. Nine nationalities are represented among the new street-food offerings.
The new vendors will hit the streets next month, bringing the number of food carts in the city to 103.
