VANCOUVER — Burger aficionados have spoken, and they’ve declared Fatburger, Vera’s Burger Shack and Moderne Burger, the best places to buy a beef patty in Vancouver, The Vancouver Sun reports.
The Sun’s Green Man Blog, penned by columnist Randy Shore, asked Vancouverites to forget the critics and declare their picks for best burger joint. The survey revealed Fatburger as the winner, with fans lauding the restaurant’s real cheddar, fresh mushrooms and a cook-to-order policy.“The best burger is cooked on a flat-top,” Frank Di Benedetto, Fatburger’s CEO, told The Sun. “We hand-press it, we puncture it, we season it with spices that I can’t tell you, and then we put a lid on it to lock in all the juices. When we turn it, we never turn it again.”
Romer’s Burger Bar was a runner up. It wowed diners with its Man’s Man Burger, topped with amber ale cheddar, sea-salt seasoned onion strings and apple-wood bacon.
