TORONTO — The 2021 edition of the annual We Care Gala is going virtual in light of gathering restrictions as a result of COVID-19. The online immersive experience, 2021 We Care Virtual Gala: We Care Goes to Camp, will be held June 3 starting at 6 p.m.
We Care’s fundraising efforts have raised more than $22.5 million to date to send kids with disabilities to Easter Seals accessible summer camp through the collaborative efforts of the foodservice and hospitality community.
For this year’s event, “Catch a ride to Camp Island for a fun online adventure where you can interact with game characters, sample our virtual tasting stations, complete quests, bid on exciting auction items, and donate to be entered into our Grand Prize Draw. Then watch a live presentation where we honour our award recipients and announce the prize winners,” says the organization’s website.
Deluxe tickets ($125) include Gala at Home Box and game access for two, while the $10 ticket includes game access only. New for this event is the We Care Surprise ticket ($10), which includes a surprise We Care item delivered to your home. Every $20 donation gives you one entry into the grand prize draw.
