West Restaurant Hosts Chef Mark Best for Culinary Collaboration


VANCOUVER — Australian chef Mark Best — owner of Sydney’s acclaimed Marque Restaurant — is set to make his Canadian debut at West Restaurant in Vancouver.

On Jan. 17, Best will collaborate with West executive chef Quang Dang as part of the Vancouver World Chef Exchange. “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Mark Best to Vancouver,” says Owen Knowlton, director of West Restaurant. “His resume is filled with awards that have placed him at the pinnacle of Australia’s bold new wave of cooking.”

The event will include a reception and eight-course dinner featuring alternating courses from chefs Dang and Best, culminating in a dessert finale from West’s pastry chef Rhonda Viani. The dinner will also feature wine pairings from the Okanagan’s Tinhorn Creek and Australia’s 2014 Winery of the Year, McWilliam’s Wines.
