VANCOUVER — White Spot has brought back its seasonal blueberry menu features to all 102 White Spot and Triple O’s locations.

Until September 1, the features offered will include the Blueberry Bundle featuring a Legendary Burger, Spot Salad and blueberry pie ($15.99); hand-scooped blueberry milkshakes ($5.99); Very Berry Frozen Lemonade; and bar features such as the Frozen Blueberry Bliss made with blueberry vodka, Triple Sec, slushy frozen lemonade and fresh mint; and the Blue Crush Martini featuring blueberry vodka, white cranberry, fresh lemon juice and blueberry purée ($8 each).

With B.C. as Canada’s leading province in blueberry production in Canada, White Spot locations serve more than 49,000 lbs of fresh blueberries in its menu items every year.

“No other full-service restaurant chain in B.C. buys more local products than White Spot and we go to great lengths to maintain that,” says Warren Erhart, president of White Spot. “We truly believe in the value of supporting many people and companies throughout B.C. that provide us with fresh, local ingredients and staying close to our roots and the communities we’re proud to support is vital to us.”

In recognition of White Spot’s commitment to using locally sourced ingredients, the B.C. Ministry of Agriculture recently announced a partnership with the chain, with funding provided through the ministry’s Buy-B.C. program.

“At White Spot, buying local isn’t a new idea — it’s the way the company has done business ever since Nat Bailey first opened its doors in 1928,” says Lana Popham, Minister of Agriculture. “White Spot continues to do so much more than showcase B.C. agriculture.”

The Buy-B.C. logo will be prominently featured in at all White Spot and Triple O’s locations. White Spot will also be dedicating its share of the Buy-B.C. partnership program funds toward enhancing its in-house Red Seal-chef training program. The brand’s Red Seal graduates will be able to further strengthen their training by visiting local farms and forging personal connections with White Spot suppliers.
