VANCOUVER — Western Canada foodservice giant White Spot Ltd. was recently named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies.

The recognition comes on the heels of what the company calls a “banner year.” The 83-year-old brand, which operates full-service and Triple O-brand quick-service establishments, logged year-over-year growth despite economic uncertainty. And, since 2009, the company has opened 10 new restos and a 1,548-square-foot culinary centre in Vancouver.

“Being named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies is an exceptional honour, as it further validates our deep commitment to our employees, guests and partners,” said Warren Erhart, president of White Spot.

Other foodservice companies that made the list include the Vancouver-based Cactus Restaurants Ltd., the Brampton, Ont.-based Maple Lodge Farms Ltd. and the Florenceville-Bristol, N.B.-based McCain Foods (Canada).
