VANCOUVER, B.C. and EDMONTON, Alta. — Today, B.C. and Alberta-based White Spot Restaurants will donate $2 from the sale of burger platters or combos to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the Fort McMurray fire relief effort.

“White Spot has been serving Albertans for nearly 20 years. Thanks to the thoughtfulness and generosity of our amazing restaurant staff in Edmonton and Leduc, our initial response to the crisis in Fort McMurray was immediate, but as a company with our roots in Western Canada, we wanted to do more,” says Warren Erhart, White Spot president. “Victims of this fire still need help, so we have reached out to our family of franchisees and partners and they have been unanimous in their agreement to provide support.”

White Spot has been utilizing the #ABfire and #YMMfire hashtags on Twitter to help spread the word about the charitable drive. BC Ferries helped 150 people who were affected by the wildfires with travel support. The ferries, which offer White Spot menu items on board, will join the charitable donation effort.
