CALGARY — Rodney’s Oyster House, with operations in Vancouver, Toronto and Prince Edward Island, has landed in Calgary. It will officially open in mid-February.

Located inside the 107-year-old Case Manufacturing Building in Calgary’s downtown Beltline District, the 8,000-sq.-ft. eatery features 320 seats spread out over two levels, with four bars and a tank with live lobster and crab. The Oyster house includes various dining options, including communal dining and private dining.

Up to 20 different oyster varieties are on offer as well as lobster, crab, sea scallops and other fish. “When you live by the sea, you eat what you catch, but by shipping in select product, it allows us to choose what is showing itself best at any given time of year, from the Maritimes, the Atlantic Coast, B.C., Washington, and even from as far away as Ireland, Scotland, France and New Zealand,” explains chef Robin Bowen, who previously worked at Southway Hotel and Conference Centre in Ottawa.

Other specialities include New England clam chowder (cup, $10), warm lobster rolls ($21), periwinkles by the bowl ($8) and Krauch smoked salmon ($14).
