Originally slated to open in 2015, Richard and Jérémie Bastien’s long-awaited Monarque restaurant is expected to open by late October in a refurbished 1820s heritage building in Montreal’s financial district. The 150-seat location, with a separate 30-seat private dining room, will offer guests a brasserie-inspired menu with a solid wine selection to accompany traditional French classics with a seasonal twist. Dishes will include steak tartar, steak-frits, lamb with ratatouille and Cornish hen on the bone with a seasonal garnish. Monarque will also feature a four-course à-la-carte dinner menu.
