TORONTO — Breakfast Clubs of Canada recently joined forces with Walmart Canada to kickstart a cross-Canada tour aimed at funding and promoting school breakfast programs.

The Taste for Learning Tour organizers hope to raise $2.5 million to fund an additional 400 programs in urban and First Nations communities. The public are invited to drop by at each stop to pick up a bag of coupons from companies such as Saputo, Danone, Kellogg’s and Minute Maid. And, from Feb. 17 to March 17, Walmart customers can purchase $1 bookmarks to benefit the cause.

“Breakfast Clubs of Canada is committed to the cause of feeding our children’s and our country’s future,” said Daniel Germain, president and founder of Breakfast Clubs of Canada and Quebec Breakfast Clubs. “We believe every breakfast counts, and by reaching our fundraising goal, we will continue to level the playing field by providing a nutritious start to the day for even more Canadian schoolchildren.”
