HALIFAX — Stephanie and Maurizio Bertossi, the operator/chef duo behind Halifax’s The Bicycle Thief, Ristorante a Mano and La Frasca Cibi + Vini, as well as Il Mercato, in Bedford, N.S., have sold their group of restaurants.
After 30 years of owning and operating restaurants, the Bertossis are handing the reigns to Bertossi Group GM, Dean Leland, and Hakan Uluer, manager at The Bicycle Thief. “We bought the business and actually formed a new partnership with them, so they can remain involved in some long-range planning for the different locations and the menus,” Leland told The Chronicle Herald.
The Bertossis will be staying on as consultants, where they will be involved in menu planning and design. “We’re very happy. And two better people couldn’t do it,” Stephanie Bertossi told The Coast.
