MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – For the second consecutive year, foodservice giant Compass Group Canada has been named a Top 100 Employer in Canada.
“We were very excited to have been named a Top 100 Employer last year,” said Jack C. MacDonald, CEO of Compass Group Canada and ESS North America. “To have made this prestigious list for the second year in a row is truly thrilling.”
The 2010 Top 100 Employer list was recently published by Mediacorp Canada Inc. in the Oct. 8 issue of Maclean’s magazine and The Globe and Mail on Oct. 9.
According to Mediacorp, in 2009, the rules of the game changed, given the tumultuous economic climate. “We’sve seen a change this year in the programs and benefits offered by the winning employers,” said Richard Yerema, managing editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. “Stability and continuity in workplace programs have become the dominant values, with the flashy extras taking a backseat to traditional benefits that make a real difference in the lives of working Canadians,” said Yerema.
