TORONTO — Prime Pubs’ iconic Fionn MacCool’s location on the Esplanade closed its doors in August. Its legacy, however, lives on at The Earl of Bessborough at Canadian Forces Base Trenton, to which Prime Pubs has donated Fionn MacCool’s Irish furnishings. In addition to the furniture, millwork, light fixtures and wall art were passed down to the Trenton pub in honour of the contributions made by members of the Canadian military.

“Every day, in our pubs across Canada that are located near military bases and federal defence departments, our staff see the dedication of individuals serving our country,” says Grant Cobb, SVP of Casual Brands, Cara Operations Limited. “We are thrilled to help create a space for servicemen and women to gather, share stories, relax and unwind. Our small contribution to The Earl of Bessborough Social House will serve members on the base and those who are leaving or returning from missions abroad, representing Canada and Canadian values. We are honoured to be part of this project.”
