OTTAWA — Nearly $2 million worth of damage was sustained at The West Carleton Weddings and Banquets Centre in Ottawa after a blaze ripped through the venue early Sunday morning.
A wedding had taken place there that night, but guests had left by the time the fire started around 2:30 a.m., causing the roof to collapse. The hall, which accommodates 300, had been booked solid from June to November.
Ottawa Fire spokesman Marc Messier told the Ottawa Sun that investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
