MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Food Service Solutions (FSS) is hosting a “Festivus” themed one-day promotional event on December 23 to support the Canadian foodservice industry.
In collaboration with some of its key partners and industry supporters, FSS will run a one week social-media campaign culminating on December 23 with a day of giveaways to local Canadian independent food businesses.
By filling out the form on the FSS website and following them on Facebook and Instagram, members of the public can nominate their favorite local independent food business or businesses can nominate themselves. Nominees can be restaurants, cafés, bars, caterers, et cetera but to be eligible, the business must be independent, have a commercial kitchen and be currently open. Chain businesses and franchises are not eligible.
Prizes — including products and gift cards from businesses in their local community — will be awarded to both the winning business and local prizes will be awarded to the person who nominated the business.
The grand prize will be a commercial portable air purifier from Jaspr.co (valued at $1,975).
All nominees will be vetted ahead of the draw date to ensure eligibility. Nominations close on Tuesday December 22 at 6 p.m. EST.
Companies that would like to get involved and donate money or goods and services to support the event can still do so. The deadline to participate is Monday December 21 at 6 p.m. EST.
“Our company’s success has come from the support of the Canadian foodservice industry. As the toughest year in recent memory for the industry draws to a close, FSS along with some of our friends would like to give back,” says Charles Rothman of FSS.
