General Assembly Pizza Expands Pizza-Subscription Service

TORONTO — General Assembly Pizza (GA Pizza) has expanded its direct-to-consumer frozen-pizza subscription further into Southwestern Ontario to include Wellington, Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, Brantford, Woodstock, London and their surrounding areas.

The Toronto-based brand’s home-delivery service offers nine par-baked and flash-frozen sourdough pizzas, including five vegetarian and two plant-based options. Since the pizza subscription was launched in September 2020, GA Pizza has delivered more than 10,000 subscription boxes and welcomed more than 3,500 members to the GA Pizza Club.

“I’m thrilled to be here, Guelph was ‘home’ for me through my formative years — I ran my first restaurant right here in Guelph, so we already feel the community’s support,” says Ali Khan Lalani, founder and CEO, GA Pizzas. “I’ve dreamt about taking GA Pizza here, in some form or other, for a long time.”

This latest expansion includes delivery to postal codes N0B through N6P, with plans to expand further in the coming month, including Ottawa and surrounding areas later this summer. GA Pizza also aims to expand nationally by the end of 2021.

GA Pizza’s continued growth is fuelled by its recently completed Series-A financing round, which will allow the company to secure a wholly owned master-production facility and increase production to 5,000 units per day by the second quarter and 10,000 units per day by the third quarter of 2021.
