TORONTO — Four local charities are joining forces with nine Jersey Mike’s locations in Ontario for the 15th-annual March Month of Giving campaign, including Make-A-Wish Canada, Child Hunger Brantford, Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington – Keep Kids Fed and Owen Sound Hunger and Relief Effort.
During the month of March, customers will have the option to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar or donate $1, $3, or $5 when placing their order. The Month of Giving campaign culminates in Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on March 26, when local restaurants will give 100 per cent of the day’s sales – not just profit – to the four local charities. This includes orders placed in-store, online or through the app.
Last year, in Canada, two Jersey Mike’s locations in Kitchener and London, Ont. raised $12,000 for Make-A-Wish Canada during the annual fundraiser. This year, seven additional restaurants are participating. Since August 2024, Redberry Restaurants has opened locations in Markham, North York, Brantford, Guelph, Pickering, Ont. and Toronto’s Union Station, the first of 300 Redberry has planned for Canada. The new Owen Sound, Ont. location opens on March 26.
“I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the month of March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100 per cent of sales goes to help a great local cause,” says Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, who started the company when he was only 17 years old.
Since Month of Giving began in 2011, Jersey Mike’s has raised more than $113 million for local charities across North America.
