McDonald’s Could Launch All-day Breakfast This Fall

OAK BROOK, Ill. — McDonald’s Corp. could start offering all-day breakfast across the U.S. as early as October.

Since earlier this spring, McDonald’s Corp. has been testing all-day breakfast in select San Diego and Nashville markets. According to a memo sent to franchisees and obtained by The Wall Street Journal, preliminary tests were encouraging, leading to speculation the chain could launch all-day breakfasts this fall. “We want to make it clear that we are not being presumptive that this will launch, but we want to make sure the system is ready to turn quickly and launch all-day breakfast should all of you believe and support that direction,” said LeAnn Richards, a McDonald’s franchisee leading the task force studying all-day breakfast. The memo was on behalf of Charlie Strong, president, U.S. central zone, McDonald’s.

In order for all-day breakfast to launch nationwide, various franchisee committees have to approve it and place equipment orders by mid-August. Franchisees will have the opportunity to vote on the subject on Aug. 14
