VANCOUVER — Elena Krasnova, chef and owner of Mon Paris Pâtisserie chef and owner has opened a second location of her Burnaby café in the Olympic Village.
The sister location of Mon Paris will showcase the same expertly crafted cakes, chocolates, pastries and confections that have made Krasnova’s original pâtisserie on Beresford Street in Burnaby a destination since it opened in 2017.
The Olympic Village location occupies 1,150 sq. ft. of space and offers seating for 20 in a cozy and bright space. The menu will feature the same flaky, classic and mouth-watering pastries such as croissants in butter, chocolate, ham and cheese, pistachio and double-baked almond and chocolate varieties, canelés, turnovers, palmiers and galettes, as well as confections, macarons, chocolates and individual desserts and custom cakes that serve six to 20 people.
Krasnova will introduce a menu of mouth-watering sandwiches served on fresh-made baguettes to the Manitoba Street location, including the Turkey Melt (smoked turkey, provolone, cranberry mayo, salad, tomato), B.C. Salmon (smoked salmon, cucumber, cream cheese, capers), Reuben (smoked brisket, Thousand Island dressing, Provolone, sauerkraut), Grinder (Italian red wine salami, capicola, jalapeño Havarti cheese, pickled onions, tomato) and Italian (tomato, pesto, mozzarella) for $13 each.
At the barista bar, the Mon Paris team will also serve up a selection of espresso-based beverages including traditional Macchiatos, Americanos, Cappuccinos and Lattes, as well as London fogs, signature house-blend hot chocolates and mochas and an array of herbal teas.
