New Web Platform for Private Chefs Launched

QUEBEC — Award-winning Canadian chef, Chloë St-Cyr, has launched Miummium, a new web-based platform that connects food-loving customers with private chefs for haute cuisine feasts at home.

“We want to democratize the culinary art, make it accessible to all, help professional chefs increase their income and reduce financial dependence on restaurants,” said St-Cyr. “We also want to provide a space where talented amateur chefs can promote their skills to the world. The time has come to take the chef out of the kitchen and into the customer’s home.”

Research from Miummium’s marketing team shows when consumers visit restaurants, they are expecting not only a great meal, but an experience. The data indicates consumers want more choices, want to reduce their costs and discover new flavours. As part of the new program, chefs arrive at customers’ homes a few hours before a meal, cook in front of them while teaching some culinary techniques, serve the feast and then disappear discreetly. On the miummium.com platform, clients will be able to compare chefs, study their menus, read reviews from previous clients, reserve their experience and pay.
