CALGARY — Chef Nicole Gomes and sister Francine have opened a take-out style fried-chicken eatery in Calgary’s Beltline District.
Cluck N Cleaver combines Francine’s love of raising chickens and Nicole’s expertise in the kitchen to serve up a technique-driven and green-conscious menu centred on fried and rotisserie birds.
The 890-sq.-ft. space boasts a Brooklyn style designed in collaboration with Sarah Ward Interiors.
Nicole characterizes the joint’s fare as “good food, served fast.” Menu offerings include southern-style fried chicken, rotisserie chicken served as a 1/4, 1/2, or whole and a selection of seven sides including chipotle-lime black beans with corn, handmade buttermilk biscuits and mustard potatoes.
The Gomes sisters have plans for two more locations in Calgary suburbs. Nicole says the duo are also eyeing expansion west to Vancouver in the future.
