TORONTO — Pizza Pizza is feeding the customer call for innovation with next month’s introduction of 12 thin-crust, gourmet whole-wheat personal pizzas and an à la carte option.

“The ingredients and toppings are top-notch, our operators have been trained, margins are fair for our franchisees and the price is low to consumers,” said Pat Finelli, chief marketing officer for Pizza Pizza, of the new offering, which the brand hopes will grow its lunch walk-in, sit down and take-out traffic.

The line includes the Tuna Light pizza (pictured) with home-style tomato sauces, tuna, red onions, kalamata olives and parmesan as well as the Primavera pizza with homestyle tomato sauce, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes with arugula and balsamic vinegar that’s added after cooking. Prices start at $4.99.

The new pizzas will be available to walk-in customers at more than 390 traditional Pizza Pizza stores in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia.
