OTTAWA — A year after the Best Bar None responsible alcohol service program expanded to Ottawa, participating members celebrated the first annual awards yesterday, with a special ceremony at Steak Modern in the city’s ByWard Market.

Just a day after its second-annual awards ceremony in Toronto, five Ottawa restaurants were recognized for high standards of alcohol service. Cornerstone Bar and Grill nabbed two of the five awards that night, including Best Overall and Best Restaurant. The other winners were Real Sports Bar & Grill (Best Bar/Lounge); The Great Canadian Cabin (Best Club); and Pub 101 (Best Pub).

Best Bar None is led by ORHMA, with the help of industry partners, including the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, Police Services, Liquor Control Board of Ontario and the ByWard Market Safety and Security Committee.
