At the seventh annual Canadian Whisky Awards — held in Victoria, B.C. on Jan. 15 — Corby Spirit and Wine once again earned high praise, winning the Canadian Connoisseur Whisky-of-the-Year award for its Gooderham & Worts and Lot No. 40 whiskies. Its J.P. Wiser’s Double Still Rye took home the Domestic Sippin’ Whisky-of-the-Year award.

“We were ecstatic to be two out of the five finalists for Canadian Whisky of the Year with Gooderham & Worts and Lot No. 40,” says Dr. Don Livermore, master blender at Corby Spirit and Wine. “These whiskies exemplify what Canadian whisky stands for — quality, blending, choice grains and craftsmanship.”

Corby’s whiskies are entirely Canadian-made from local grains at the company’s Hiram Walker facility in Windsor, Ont.

“Corby has yet again illustrated that it is leading the way in Canadian Whisky,” says Ross Hendry, brand director of Canadian Craft Whisky. “We truly value both the Canadian Whisky Awards and Victoria Whisky Festival and the role they continue to play in elevating the discussion around the category. It was an honour having Dave Broom, Davin de Kergommeaux and our master blender here in Victoria to sneak preview some of our remarkable upcoming releases. We are excited for the year ahead and to show the whisky world the very best that Canada has to offer.”
