EDMONTON — Members of Baking Team Canada are finalizing their secret recipes in preparation for the prestigious World Cup of Baking — formally known as Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie.

This year’s competition begins on Feb. 5 in Paris, France. This is the first time in 16 years Canada has qualified for the World Cup of Baking, which is held every four years. The team secured a spot at the international competition last June after scoring the highest points at the Louis Lesaffre Cup in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Baking Team Canada will be coached by Mario Fortin and includes Alan Dumonceaux, James Holehouse, Clayton Folkers, Marcus Mariathas and Elien de Herdt.
