Boston Pizza Introduces Kids Card

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Starting this week, Boston Pizza Kids Cards will bring kids together with local role models. Every $5 Kids Card donation helps a child in need spend one hour with someone in their community whom they look up to for inspiration and guidance. As an added bonus to donors, each card qualifies the purchaser for five free kids’ meals.

Kids Cards is part of the chain’s greater initiative, Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects (BPFFP), introduced in 2006.

“Things start to look up for children in need when they have the right person to look up to,” says Cheryl Treliving, executive director of BPFFP. “The more than $22 million that [the program] has raised over the years has gone directly towards ensuring children and youth across the country have the guidance and the inspiration they need to succeed. Last year, with the support and generosity of our franchisees, staff and guests across Canada, we raised a record $890,000 through this annual in-restaurant charity promotion and we hope to break that record this year.”

BPFFP also works alongside partner organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, JDRF, Kids Help Phone, Live Different and the Rick Hanson Foundation.

Boston Pizza Kids Cards are available for purchase at its Canadian locations and at BostonPizza.com from Aug. 22 to Oct. 2, 2016. Free kids’ meals can be redeemed until June 30, 2017. Those who register their Kids Card on their MYBP account will receive a sixth free kids’ meal.
