LONGUEUIL, Que. — The Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers (FPAQ) launched the Maple Christmas Showcase, its first promotional effort in the United Kingdom.
The event, which took place at the Canadian High Commission in London last week, was scheduled to coincide with the time of year when special offerings for Christmas are announced in London. The Maple Christmas Showcase aims to set up Canadian and Quebec maple products as ingredients in traditional British cuisine.
“Judging by the reaction of our visitors, there is a large and undiscovered market for maple products here in the UK,” said Gordon Campbell, Canada’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. “I predict that today’s tasting here in London will ensure that this versatile, exciting — and most importantly Canadian — ingredient finds its way into the traditional British Christmas.”
