CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc. has expanded its Pinkglow pineapple to select retailers in limited markets throughout Canada.
Pinkglow pineapples are grown in Costa Rica and take up to 24 months to produce. The product is then harvested by hand, with their crowns re-planted to increase the volume of crops and reduce waste. Previously, Pinkglow pineapples were only available for purchase in the U.S.
“As a result of high consumer demand and increased product availability, we decided to expand our distribution to make Pinkglow pineapples even more accessible to our Canadian shoppers,” says Pablo Rivero, vice-president, Marketing, Del Monte Fresh Produce, N.A. “North American expansion is a key component of our growth strategy, so we look forward to providing these unique pineapples to a new consumer base and hope they love the product just as much as we do.”
