TORONTO — General Assembly Pizza (GA) is announcing its largest partnership to date. The chain will partner with Fortinos Supermarket for a five-store pilot program at locations in Burlington, Vaughan, Brampton, Hamilton and Oakville, increasing GA’s retail presence to more than 80 stores across Ontario.

After the pilot is completed, the partnership will be reviewed to determine the next course of action, which might include further expansion across the grocery chain’s 23 locations.

GA’s frozen pizzas are made with premium ingredients and all-natural dough, with meat-free and plant-based options included in its product lineup.

“This is an exciting development that will allow us to further expand our retail footprint, and ultimately introduce GA Pizza to new households across Ontario,” says Ali Khan Lalani, founder and CEO of GA Pizza. “Partnering with Fortinos Supermarket, a beloved part of Loblaw’s robust retailers, is a fantastic opportunity to extend our reach more than ever before.”

“Our team was drawn to GA Pizza’s product offering: a premium frozen pizza that’s both easy to cook and delicious. Fortinos is excited to partner with GA Pizza. As a large grocery retailer, this premium, locally made frozen pizza is a great fit for our customers,” says Beverly Wright, director of Marketing, Loblaw Companies Ltd.

GA Pizza recently secured a new production facility to significantly increase the volume of wholesale product to meet the growing popularity and market demand.

“Our new facility is a significant stepping stone for the team. We will finally be able to keep up with demand and forge larger-scale wholesale relationships like this to better serve our pizza lovers,” says Lalani.
