TORONTO — Toronto’s Halal Food Fest (HFFTO) is returning for its fifth year, July 15 to 16.

The HFFTO will be held at The International Centre in Mississauga, Ont. and is expected to draw more than 35,000 visitors to its 200 Halal food booths. Representing cuisines from around the world, guests will enjoy unique offerings from Toronto halal restaurants, bakeries, specialty stores and manufacturers.

“The Muslim population continues to grow in Canada and, because of it, the halal food industry is also growing,” says Salima Jivraj, founder of Halal Food Fest. “The demand for halal food is there, but there’s still room for more education around what halal is and what makes certain foods halal. Providing education is one of our goals at Halal Food Fest, and that’s why our festival is for everyone — Muslim or not.”
